Fern Hill’s Presidential Suite is known as the Mandela Suite. Originally built to accommodate former President Nelson Mandela on 16 December 1996, the suite has since been upgraded and redesigned with a mixture of African and modern aesthetics.
The room boasts a large master bedroom with a four-poster bed and ample space. The en suite bathroom has a standalone shower, contemporary glass basin and an extra-large spa bath with massage jets.
The Mandela Suite has its own separate lounge area with plush leather couches, stocked mini bar, tea and filter coffee facilities, a gas fireplace and a window box seat. All of the suites artworks have been painted by hotel owner Karen Poltera to celebrate Mandela and the African charm that permeates the suite.
Further amenities in the suite include two 32-inch LCD TVs with DSTV, full air-conditioning and ample desk space for guests requiring an area to work.
